I recently had my first visit to London for work, and it was an exciting, yet slightly surreal experience. The city’s energy is undeniable, especially during the morning rush hour. Picture this: suits everywhere, and people all moving in the same direction like clockwork. It felt a bit odd, as if I had stepped into a scene from a movie.
London Office: Coming Together in Person
Our company operates with a remote setup, so I don’t visit the London office too often. But this time, I had the chance to meet team members face-to-face, which was a refreshing change from our usual Skype meetings. There’s something about coming together in person that makes collaboration feel more tangible and human.
Being in the office gave me the chance to meet my manager, who flew in from San Francisco. We work together remotely most of the time, so getting to meet him in person added a new dynamic to our relationship. I find that meeting people you normally only interact with digitally can make the work environment feel more connected.
A Bit of London Charm
Aside from work, I got to experience a bit of what makes London so unique. The city’s mix of historic landmarks and modern hustle is striking. It’s the kind of place that always feels like something is happening, whether it’s in business or culture. I’ll definitely be back—both for work and to explore more of this fascinating city.
